CEO of NT Joins APSCC 2024 Panel Discussion to Propel Thailand’s Space Ecosystem as a Leader in Southeast Asia
On November 5, 2024, Colonel Sanphachai Huvanandana, CEO of National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), participated in a panel discussion at the APSCC 2024 Satellite Conference & Exhibition held at Chatrium Grand Bangkok. The discussion, titled “Thai Space Sector Players: How to Drive the Space Ecosystem in Thailand,” focused on strategies to elevate Thailand’s space ecosystem on the global stage.
The global space industry is expanding rapidly, driven by technological innovation, private-sector investment, and heightened interest in space exploration. It is projected that the global space economy could reach a valuation of USD 1 trillion by 2040, with significant revenue generated from satellite constellation development, Earth and space exploration, and space tourism.
While Thailand’s space economy remains an emerging sector, NT recognizes immense potential for fostering scientific research, economic stimulation, and the creation of high-tech job opportunities that could position Thailand as a leading force in Southeast Asia’s space industry.
NT is well-equipped with ground infrastructure, operating three Satellite Earth Stations: Sriracha, Sirindhorn, and Nonthaburi. Alongside its national and international terrestrial networks, NT can leverage its existing telecommunications infrastructure to support Ground Segment services, maximizing infrastructure efficiency and minimizing redundant national investments. This approach also paves the way for comprehensive “Total Solutions” service models, encompassing both Space-to-Ground and Ground-to-Space offerings.
