NT Partners with Eutelsat OneWeb Ready to Launch Satellite Network Portal Gateway for Low Earth Orbit Communications in Southeast Asia

National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), Thailand’s leading telecommunications and satellite communications provider, in collaboration with Eutelsat OneWeb, a subsidiary of Eutelsat Group and a global leader in Geostationary and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network provider, Together, the two companies have announced the imminent launch of readiness to a Gateway facility for OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system at the Sirindhorn Satellite Earth Station in Ubon Ratchathani Province. This facility is set to become one of the most advanced satellite communications centers in the region.

Speaking at the APSCC 2024 Satellite Conference & Exhibition (APSCC 2024) held in Thailand on November 5, 2024, Colonel Sanpachai Huvanandana, CEO of NT, stated, “The development of this SNP Gateway for LEO satellites marks a significant milestone in NT’s mission to enhance Thailand’s and the region’s communications infrastructure, aligning with our vision of sustainable digital leadership. The selection of Sirindhorn Satellite Station as the location for this SNP Gateway was based on its robust infrastructure, strategic location, and expert personnel, enabling us to provide highly efficient services across Thailand and neighboring countries. This represents a transformative moment in Thailand’s telecommunications industry, not only enhancing national connectivity but also integrating Thailand into global communications networks.”
